Over 50 Years of Services

Our operation started in the early 1960's with the vision of our founder, Ismael Ahmed Limbada to always provide quality engineering solutions. After working in Pakistan for Taylor Woodrow on pre stressing of several Bridges across the Indus River and after several years in London where he  contributed on the famous Terminal 2 of Heathrow Airport, he returned to Mauritius.

He joined the Ministry of Work and soon became a reference in the civil/structural field and became the Chief Engineer for the Island. At the same period, Mauritius was ambitious of becoming  independent and the work in the private sector started increasing. With a shortage of engineers, I.A Limbada was granted the right to practice for the private sector while attending his function as Chief Engineer.

He has contributed largely to the development of Mauritius. Some of his  masterpiece can still be seen, the Anglo Mauritius Building was at the time the highest building in the Indian Ocean with 9 stories (completed in 1974) or even the replacement of the old steel arch bridge at Grand Riviere Nord Ouest by a concrete bridge (Completed in 1984).

In 1975, Limbada Melvin and Partners was created with Mr.Godron Melvin a well known British practice at the time with offices across Africa. Mr Mohmed Iqbal Limbada joined the practice as director in 1975 after his study at Manchester. Limbada Melvin grew up as the leading civil / structural  engineering consultancy firm in Mauritius. In1986 the company became LIMBADA & LIMBADA  CONSULTING ENGINEERS Ltd (LLCE Ltd).

Over the years LLCE Ltd has forged its reputation on the quality of its services and the dedication to find cost effective solutions. LLCE has delivered some Masterpiece of engineering such as the State  Bank Headquarters in Port Louis, which is till date the only composite steel structure in Mauritius with  a cofferdam basement structure. It was after its completion in 1996 the highest building in the Region  or the record breaking concrete portal frame of 23 m span for Chantier de Plaisance (completed in 2000).

From Engineering to a Global Consultancy beyond the Mauritian borders

LLCE Ltd was entrusted by clients, several projects where we acted as single point of contact right from the design inception , supervision and coordination of work, till the complete handover of the keys.

In 2002, Khalid Limbada joined the practice, which brought a new division capable of managing and delivering projects of large nature. LLCE has since embarked into a global consultancy service provider able to provide MEPD services, project management, and construction managementl.

Extension of Le Meridien Hotel (2005), The Grand Mauritian (2008) and The Saint Regis (2012) are some of the proven track record of our ability in this field.

Today our services go beyond the Mauritian borders and the African continent. We started a journey half a century ago and it is our will to deliver beyond.
